Born and brought up in Gloucestershire and then France, food and wine have always played a major role in my life. To me, there is no greater pleasure in life than feeding ones friends and loved ones great food.
I have been fortunate enough to have had family living in France, Germany, Spain and New Zealand and have been exposed to many different styles of cooking throughout my life and having worked myself in France, Spain, Italy, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, other cultures and cuisines have undoubtedly influenced my cooking style. From doing a hotel and catering degree in Scotland, a patisserie course in Bath to studying wines in Cirencester, food has always been a great interest.
I love to source the best, seasonal ingredients from our local producers. From meat supplied by our local family run butchers Taylors in Minchinhampton http://www.taylorsminchinhampton.com/meet-the-team/, organic milk and cheese from Woefuldane Organic Dairy http://www.woefuldanedairy.co.uk to flour from Shipton Mill http://www.shipton-mill.com and free range eggs from our local farmers.
Whilst at school in Paris, I had my first introduction to serious wine tasting with a course tutored by Stephen Spurrier. This was the start of a strong fascination and love of wine. Whilst living in London I had the pleasure of working for and being trained by such esteemed establishments as Moet Hennessy UK Ltd and McKinley Vintners. I then returned to Gloucestershire to embark on an MBA in Wine Business Management at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. Following some time working abroad in Italy and Spain, I returned to Gloucestershire and joined a local wine importer and was responsible for importing wines direct from the wineries from all over Europe as well as opening up their first retail outlet in Stroud. To this end, wine has always been a passion of mine and I am more than happy to supply or advise on wines to match your chosen foods.
